Mr. Adam Way is a consultant spinal surgeon specialising in neck and lower back pain. His surgical practice concentrates on the use of minimally invasive techniques. He performs the full range of spinal operations, including injections, vertobroplasty/kyphoplasty (injecting acrylic bone cement into a fracture through a hole in the skin), cervical disc replacement or fusion, and lumbar microdiscectomies,  decompressions and fusions. 

Background

Mr. Way attended Sheffield University Medical School and did his basic surgical training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, the Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow, and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. He studied for his MSc in Surgical Sciences at University College London and then went on to Higher Surgical Training at Barts and the Royal London Hospital. He focused his registrar training towards becoming a spinal surgeon, spending two years on the spinal unit at Stanmore, followed by another year completing an advanced spinal surgery fellowship.

Adam’s research has been published nationally and internationally, and he has also lectured on spinal and trauma surgery. He assesses examinations and conducts interviews for the London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deaneries. He is on the executive board of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons as Membership Secretary.
